ARTWORK STATEMENT
After dealing with digital images and video sculpture for quite sometimes, I tried to stop and look back into the theories that hold it together. Referencing on John Berger in ‘Ways of Seeing’ I tried to construct new works that deal with memory and visualisation, way before the invention of camera. ‘Memory Space no. 1’ is the first of its series. It is an artwork that deals with imaginary collective images that was designed by experiences. It is not just a mere diorama based on real space or images- but a phenomenological reproduction of the collective memory.
